Embracing Action: A Simple Method to Overcome Apathy

“It’s difficult to predict our energy level or mental state in advance. We need more flexibility to consider these factors and choose appropriate work closer to when we’ll be doing the work.”
Kourosh Dini

Ever have one of those mornings where you just can’t seem to muster the will to do anything? I certainly did yesterday. Caught up in the comfort of my couch watching pro football, I found myself crafting a list of excuses to justify my inertia.

But then, a light bulb moment struck. I remembered a powerful technique from Kouroshi Dini known as the Anchor Method. The concept is simple: jot down three or four tasks and commit to completing just one. This small act of focus can be incredibly transformative.

So, I decided to take the plunge. I picked one task and tackled it head-on. To my surprise, once I completed it, a wave of motivation washed over me. I found myself diving into another task, and before I knew it, I was on a roll! Two hours flew by as I effortlessly checked items off my to-do list, feeling more invigorated with each completed task.

If you ever find yourself feeling like a bump on a log, I encourage you to try this method. Write down a few tasks, choose one, and immerse yourself in it. You might just unlock a surge of productivity and energy that you didn’t know you had!

Thank you, Kouroshi, for this invaluable strategy. Let’s keep moving forward together!
